CFP Chinese in Africa / Africans in China (CA/AC) Research Network conference, Guangzhou dec.2014
Chinese in Africa / Africans in China (CA/AC) Research Network conference, Guangzhou dec.2014
The third conference convened by the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China (CA/AC) Research Network will take place in Guangzhou, China, December 12-14, 2014.
The event is co-hosted with Jinan University. The CA/AC conference pulls together a relatively small group of academic researchers from across the world whose work focuses on the people-related aspect of China-Africa engagements.
The conference program will be put together in two steps:
First, we invite scholars to propose panels for inclusion in the program. The panels may be focussed on theoretical or methodological topics central to research on Chinese in Africa and Africans in China, or they can be defined empirically. A program committee with representatives from the CA/AC network and Jinan University will select panels for the conference program.
Secondly, we issue a call for abstracts where researchers and graduate students can propose presentations for the various panels. The panel chairs will be consulted in the selection of participants for their panels. The program committee may set up additional panels for
abstracts that are deemed important and of high quality, but which cannot be accommodated in the pre-defined panels.
